Whilst we’ve had a lot of rain since I arrived (not surprising on a British Island) most days have had windows of sunshine so I can get out for a walk. The only day in the last two and a half weeks that it’s rained all day was Sunday.
I had no plans for today so as my mum was using her car I had a slow puttering start, then decided to walk into St Helier. It’s T shirt weather all right! Took me an hour, and for the next hour and a half I’ve been walking around the shops. Lunch was two flapjacks (oaty thick cookie-type bars) on the hoof.
Time to rest the feet so I found a cafe with internet so I could play with my iPod Touch.
I’m meeting an old school friend on Thursday. Haven’t seen her since I was 16!
Dad had his appointment with the Southampton doctor yesterday and is now waiting to hear when he needs to fly there for his radiotherapy.
I have been reading a few books that my sister helpfully provided. A Tiny Bit Marvellous by Dawn French, The Curious Case of the Dog in the Nighttime, and One Day. Also there has been crocheting and knitting. I finished a pair of fingerless mitts (Alternating Current) out of Knitting New Mittens and Gloves. The back of a freeform crochet cardigan is done. The toe of a bamboo sock has been started. And some James C Brett Marble is possibly going to become a backpack-type bag. That’s about half done.
Can’t post photos, I’m afraid.
That’s it. Have a great day.
