Hi all. I am using a computer in the communal room at the Jurys Inn Hotel in Southampton. It is the lounge for cancer patients. This seems to be the only way to get free internet around here!
I have been here since Monday morning and I leave tonight to fly back to Jersey. I accompanied my dad so that he could start his radiotherapy treatments (more thoughts on that when I get home and back to my own iMac). He is not up to sightseeing, which is a shame as there’s lots that we could be doing around here, not least checking out the shopping centre!
I will then have one more week in Jersey – a last chance to spend time with family. Who knows when I will see them next?
My husband and boys in Canada have been missing me and are looking forward to my return. What a nice feeling!
Well, I must pop out to Tesco to pick up a few things for dad. Once he’s on his own, he’ll have to rely on the meals offered by the hotel. Thankfully I have cousins not far away and they have offered help if necessary. Two of them visited us at the hotel last night, which was wonderful.

So happy for you that you have had this time with family although some of it is sad time. Must be hard to resist all the shops and sites but glad you are there for your dad. Miss you here in Canada.
